The seals were abandoned by their mothers during the recent floods in the East coast of the UK when record high tides separated them leaving many vulnerable to starvation. They are being nurtured on warm fish 'soup' which is prepared by staff delivered via a pump and tube. The three month old seals are also being given their first taste of fish to acclimmatise them prior to being released back into the North Sea. The sanctuary is currently caring for over 100 seals and are unable to take on any more. They are also appealing for the donation of a catering food mixer and a dish washer to assist in preparation of the seals meals.
